About museum
In 1988 the Historical and Art Museum was opened in the town of Lukhovitsy. Here you can learn about the region's history and view peasant household items, icons, coins, a model of the first ship of the Russian fleet 'Oryol', various documents and photographs. You can also learn about the famous Lukhovitsy cucumber, which is popular throughout the Moscow region. The museum has three halls: a historical-ethnographic hall, a Hall of Military Glory, and the Lukhovitsy Cucumber Hall. In addition, there is a nature corner. Since 2016 the museum has operated a tourist information center that invites residents and visitors to discover the region's history and culture.
