Iki-Burul Branch named after O.Kh. Kikeev of the National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia named after N.N. Palmov
About museum
On May 12, 2021, in the settlement of Iki-Burul in the Republic of Kalmykia, a new branch was opened in honor of the 100th anniversary of the N. N. Palmov National Museum; it was named after Honored Artist of Russia, Laureate of the Komsomol of Kalmykia Prize named after E. Delikov, Honored Art Worker of the Kalmyk ASSR — Kikeev Ochir Khulkhachievich. The new building of the settlement's Center of Culture and Art offers themed tours and activities, lectures and master classes for schoolchildren and adults, as well as exhibitions on the history of the establishment and development of the Iki-Burul district, works by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation O.Kh. Kikeev, as well as collections of embroidered panels by Lidiya Vasilyevna Poltavskaya and archaeological items of the Yamnaya culture from excavations of kurgan burials and ancient necropolises of the Yergeni Upland, and information about steppe racehorses — the aranzals of the Ut-Salin stud farm. This museum has become a focal point for all those concerned with the history, culture and traditions of the Kalmyk people.
