About museum

Universum Gallery was founded by Professor Tamara Mikhailovna Stepanskaya in 2000 as the teaching and experimental base of the laboratory "Fine Art and Architecture." The gallery serves to familiarize students of the Faculty of Arts and Design of Altai State University with practical work. It hosts exhibitions of student creative works as well as of professional artists from Siberia, including photo exhibitions "Dialogue of Worlds: Russia through the Eyes of Chinese Students, China through the Eyes of Russians," "China through the Eyes of Students," "PRC: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow," "Territory of Victory," works by the artist Chen Yi and the anniversary photo exhibition of A. Kh. Ditsa "There's No Country in the World More Beautiful than Russia..." The gallery also holds the traditional exhibitions "We Celebrate the Christmas Holiday" and "Altai Mastery," and participates in the international project "Museum Night." The gallery conducts educational activities to promote the work of artists from Siberia and neighboring regions (China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia).
