Yekaterinburg Museum Center of Folk Art "Gamayun"
About museum
The "Gamayun" Museum Center was established on March 25, 1994. The founder of the new organization was the Department of Culture of the Yekaterinburg City Administration. The museum became the successor to the Gamayun Association of Folk Art Masters and Arts and Crafts, which had existed for more than 10 years. The new museum institution was the first in the Ural region to draw attention to alternative artistic creation and to make it an object of collecting. Thanks to a variety of exhibition projects, research work and educational/outreach activities, the museum actively promotes masters of naive art as well as discovers new names.
