About museum
The museum is dedicated to the activities of representatives of various branches of the public movement. It displays exhibits devoted to such figures as T. N. Granovsky, D. I. Pisarev, N. G. Chernyshevsky and Marko Vovchok. Particularly interesting are the sections devoted to the first professional collectors of folk traditions, as well as the publishers of folk song collections P. V. Kireevsky and P. I. Yakushkin. The museum houses books from the memorial library of the founder of Russian folkloristics, P. V. Kireevsky. The library includes editions in various languages from the 18th — early 19th centuries.
