P. V. Kuznetsov House Museum
About museum
The construction date of the estate dates to the late 19th century. It belonged to Varfolomey Fedorovich and Evdokia Illarionovna Kuznetsov, the parents of P. V. Kuznetsov. By the end of the 20th century the building was almost completely destroyed. In 1988 the A. N. Radishchev Museum took over the building and the plot for the reconstruction of the museum dedicated to the artist who spent his childhood and youth in this house. In 2000 the reconstruction was completed and the museum became accessible to visitors. It is an interesting example of a burgher dwelling typical of Saratov at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. Today the museum is a centre for promoting the work of Pavel Kuznetsov and his friends, and an active institution supporting contemporary art in Saratov.
