In 1944 the town of Likhvin was renamed in honor of the executed partisan Sasha Chekalin — one of the young Heroes of the Soviet Union. In the house of merchant Pronin, where Sasha was interrogated during the Great Patriotic War, the exhibition "Military Pages of Likhvin" was established. It features rare exhibits from the collections of the State Cultural Institution of the Tula Region "Tula Museum Association", dedicated to the feat of the young partisan, the history of the partisan movement during the war and the life of the town during the occupation.
