Chuvash-Sormin Local History Museum
About museum
In 1978, at the school of the village of Suvashskaya Sorma, on the initiative of Kirill Vasilyevich Voronov, an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Chuvash Republic, the Chuvash-Sormin Local History Museum was established. The local history museum was provided with premises in the House of Culture with a total area of 200 sq. m. In 1989 the museum was awarded the title of a people's museum at the Sorminsky state farm. Local residents actively participated in collecting exhibits for the museum; as a result, 2,820 items were put on display. Since May 2015 the Chuvash-Sormin Local History Museum has been a structural subdivision of the Municipal Budgetary Cultural Institution "District Literary and Local History Museum" of Alikovsky District of the Chuvash Republic.
