About museum
On May 8, 1980, Frolov Nikolai Sergeevich founded the Memorial Center of the Cheremshan District of the Republic of Tatarstan. In 1972 he came to this district and became actively interested in history, accumulating a large amount of historical information. In 1995 the museum received its official name. Over 25 years Nikolai Sergeevich created a unique place with more than 3,000 storage units, including material exhibits and documents, which yielded information about the fates and names of more than 13,000 Cheremshan residents. The museum building is the former Mikhailo-Archangel Church of the Samara Diocese. In 2016 a decision was made to relocate the Memorial Center to another building that was intended for reconstruction. In 2018 the artist F. Vildanov began work on arranging the exhibition, and in 2019 a decision was made to move to the new building. The Memorial Center presents exhibitions dedicated to the heroes who glorified the Cheremshan district, participated in the Great Patriotic War, as well as historical monuments of this land.
