About museum
The Museum of Labor and Military Glory of the 'Yuzhny' state farm is located in Bogolyubovka, within the Bogolyubov rural settlement of Maryanovsky District. Its foundation was laid by Lyubov Andreyevna Bazanova, the pioneer leader of the Bogolyubov secondary school, after members of her 'Poisk' search club discovered the burial site of Hero of the Soviet Union I. S. Ponomarenko. Since 1988 the museum has been supported by the village administration and became a public rural museum. The main exhibition is housed in the village House of Culture building and occupies 156 sq. m.; it includes materials on the settlement and development of the village, household items, awards and achievements of the villagers, materials about internationalist soldiers and participants in local conflicts, as well as about Hero of the Soviet Union I. S. Ponomarenko. Since 2007 the museum's methodologist has been E. G. Litunenko, who oversees its work in several areas: research and collections management, exhibitions and displays, and cultural and educational activities.
