Belovsky Historical and Ethnographic Museum
About museum
At the Belovsky Historical and Ethnographic Museum you can learn about the history and traditions of the southern Russian peasantry. It was opened on March 12, 1976, and in 1990 was awarded the title "People's". In 2001 the museum became a branch of the Kursk Regional Museum of Local Lore. The museum's collections comprise nearly 14,000 items. The exhibition area is 129 square meters. In 2012 a new exhibition was created presenting the everyday life of southern Russian peasants. The museum halls showcase ethnography (costumes, household utensils, the interior of a 19th-century peasant hut), as well as history and contemporary life through the display of historical artifacts.
