June 23, 1982 became a landmark date for the cultural life of the district: in honor of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Yakut ASSR and the 50th anniversary of Yakutia's entry into the Russian state, a historical and local-history museum was opened, which is a branch of the Yakut State United Museum of History and Culture of the Peoples of the North named after Yemelyan Yaroslavsky. It was a major event for the district.
