Alexander III Palace in Massandra
About museum
The Alupka Palace and Park Museum-Reserve includes the Vorontsov Palace Museum in Alupka and the Alexander III Palace in Massandra. Against the backdrop of mountain slopes and majestic pines stands a castle-like palace, built to a design by Baron A. L. Stieglitz. The palace's facades are a 'symphony of stone,' and the interiors a 'symphony of wood.' At different times of the year the palace is adorned with flowering lilac bushes, wisteria, roses, and the crimson leaves of ornamental vines, while in winter it is beautiful in its snowy attire. A visit to the museum-reserve allows visitors to admire the builders' craftsmanship and to learn about the rich history of 19th-century estate culture.
