Spring will delight Volgograd residents and visitors to the city with new art exhibitions and painting master classes.
Exhibition 'The Hermitage in Volgograd'.
In the exhibition hall of the Mashkov Museum, an exhibition-educational project of three exhibitions is being presented for the first time. The first: the exposition 'Porcelain Russia' by sculptor Pavel Kamensky. It consists of 25 precious miniature porcelain sculptures created on commission for Nicholas II and dedicated to the various peoples inhabiting the Russian Empire.
The second: 'Gifts of the Hermitage' consists of more than a hundred exhibits: ancient sculpture and ceramics, paintings and engravings created by Italian, French, Dutch, Flemish, and English masters.
The third: 19th-century graphics in the VMII collection. More than 30 works of Russian and foreign printed graphics of the 19th century, transferred from the Hermitage in 1961, will be presented. Among them are etchings by Ivan Shishkin, Viktor Vasnetsov, Andrei Somov, Vasily Mate, Elizaveta Krasnushkina; reproduction engravings after originals by Karl Bryullov, Silvestr Shchedrin, Illarion Pryanishnikov; lithographs by Auguste Raffe; and satirical graphics by Honoré Daumier and Paul Gavarni.
Opening date: March 7. The exhibition will run until June 1, 2025.
Admission is free on the opening day.
Price after the opening: 600 RUB – full ticket, 350 RUB – concession ticket (students, schoolchildren, people with disabilities of group III).
Exhibition 'Dialogue'
At the Volgograd Regional Children's Art Gallery a solo exhibition of graphics by Volgograd artists Anna Filimonova and Viktor Filimonov will take place. The exhibition features graphic sheets made in linocut and drypoint techniques. The works are united in series: 'Steppe', 'Fragments', 'Tauromachy', 'Tethys', 'Varangians'.
Opening date: March 5; the exhibition will run until April 5, 2025.
Painting exhibition 'Fairy Tales'
At the Youth Center (Pugachevskaya St. 17) there will be an exhibition of paintings created by students of the GRAFIKA drawing school. The works are dedicated to the magical world of fairy tales.
Visitors can expect:
new interpretations of fairy tales in art
the opportunity to meet the artists and learn about their creative process
interactive zones

V. Tsygulev Art Gallery.
The master class will take place surrounded by works of art; many pieces will inspire you to create your own painting.
Creative materials are provided: acrylic, canvas on cardboard 30x40.
Participation is 1,100 RUB per person, duration 1.5–2 hours.
