Exhibition project dedicated to the famous dynasties of Vyatka
In the Main Building of the Kirov Regional Museum of Local Lore named after P.V. Alabin, the opening of the exhibition 'Family Album' (0+) took place. The new project offers an unusual view of the well-known Vyatka dynasties through the prism of family photographs.
One of the central and rarest exhibits is a photo album from the family of the well-known Vyatka architect I.A. Charushin. This massive folio in a leather binding with a metal clasp testifies to the care and pride with which our ancestors assembled and preserved their family photo archives. There are several such rarities at the exhibition, and they all contain the stories of several generations.
The exhibition 'Family Album' tells about the renowned family dynasties of the Vyatka Governorate: from craftsmen to merchants, from peasants to the intelligentsia. All of them in one way or another contributed to the development of the governorate and our country as a whole, and to the upbringing of several generations of people devoted to serving the Fatherland.
For example, the Vyatka merchants and entrepreneurs the Kardakovs were engaged not only in commercial activities but also actively involved in philanthropy and science. Representatives of such Vyatka families as the Charushins and the Shpak-Shirokovs are known far beyond the Kirov region. Photography enthusiasts will be interested to see the famous photo artist Sergey Lobovikov not only as an author but also as a subject of the photographic chronicle.
The famous symbol of Vyatka - the Dymkovo toy - also developed as a family craft. Visitors will be presented with the dynasties of Dymkovo craftswomen Mezrina-Konovalova and Penkina and the clay toys created by several generations.
It is worth noting that the exhibition includes not only photographs but also objects, many of which were donated to the museum by descendants of well-known Vyatka families. Visitors will also see paintings, sculptures, rare icons and books - around 100 exhibits in total from the museum's collection.
The exhibition will be on view until May 11.
