Temporary exhibition created in collaboration with the museum-reserve 'Kimmeria M.A. Voloshin'\r\n\r\nAt the 'Chekhov and Crimea' Museum at the 'Omyur' dacha, a new exhibition 'Not Like Their Portraits...' will open on July 11 at 14:00. The exhibition project is timed to the 125th anniversary of the meeting between the great playwright Anton Chekhov and the poet, critic, and artist Maximilian Voloshin, which took place at the 'Omyur' dacha in late February 1899.\r\n\r\nIn the thematic sections of the exhibition, materials attesting to Voloshin's deep interest in Chekhov's work will be presented for the first time. From the collection of the M.A. Voloshin House-Museum, the exhibition will display unique Voloshin watercolors, rare books, letters, photographs, phototype postcard reproductions with scenes from A.P. Chekhov's play 'Uncle Vanya,' and much more. A separate thematic section will be dedicated to the poet's widow Maria Voloshina and her acquaintance with the 'seagull of the Russian stage,' Vera Komissarzhevskaya.\r\n\r\nVisitors will be able to see the exhibition 'Not Like Their Portraits...' from July 11 to August 22, in accordance with the opening hours of the 'Chekhov and Crimea' Museum at the 'Omyur' dacha.\r\n\r\nReference: The 'Chekhov and Crimea' Museum at 32 Kirov Street is an old mansion built in a pseudo-Gothic style that belonged to the Ilovaysky family. The 'Omyur' dacha (from Crimean Tatar – 'Life') was built in 1888 to a design by the architect Ovsyanoy.
