Exhibition 'Childhood. Dreams'
About exhibition
The project recreates the space of a child's dream, transporting visitors to a lost world of the past. The focus is the ideal childhood of the Soviet child: dreams, fantasies, desires and thoughts about the future. In this project the museum experiments with the format, placing emphasis on people's feelings and memories. The exhibition is complemented by household items, toys, photographs and children's drawings. The show features 63 works from the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Samara Regional Art Museum, and private collections. Visitors will be able to see such masterpieces as 'Again a Two' by Fyodor Reshetnikov, 'Future Pilots' by Alexander Deineka, '1918 in Petrograd' by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, 'Summer' by Tatyana Yablonskaya, 'A Picture for Children' by Petr Konchalovsky, and many others. The artworks reflect an 'adult' view of childhood: the artists contemplate their own path to adulthood and the experience of parenthood.
