D. A. Smirnova Exhibition
About exhibition
This exhibition is a tribute to the remarkable artist, researcher and teacher D. A. Smirnova. In addition to her creative achievements, the exhibition introduces lesser-known facets of Smirnova's talent — her research and pedagogical work. Visitors will see works from different periods of the master's career, showcasing experiments in color and ornamentation in counted lace, and pieces in other techniques traditional to the Ryazan region — linked and multi-pair (bobbin) techniques. Among them are the tablecloth “Meadows in Meshchera in Bloom”, the tabletop piece “Gardens Bloom in Izhislavl”, the towels “Roosters” and “Bread and Salt”, the panel “Bird of Happiness” and others. The exhibition includes items from the “Golden Scatterings” (2005–2010) collection, created on the motifs of urban and monastic lace.
