Exhibition '1914–1918: Stories of the People of a Forgotten War'
About exhibition
Visitors will learn the stories and fates of individual people at a turning point in history. Using original documents, the exhibition shows how men of different backgrounds and occupations—each with their own plans for the future—became soldiers and officers of the Russian army, and how women became Sisters of Mercy in a war the scale of which humanity had not yet known. Exhibits include photographs, letters from the front, postcards, awards, and personal memoirs of participants in those events. The central characters of the exhibition are people. Participants of the First World War 'speak' to visitors in the voices of actors from the Yaroslavl State Drama Theater named after F. Volkov: Mikhail Emelyanov, Semyon Ivanov, Konstantin Silakov, and Sergey Sharifullin. The partner is the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents.
