Khabarovsk Regional Museum named after N.I. Grodekov
About museum
In 1894 the Khabarovsk Regional Museum of the Priamur Department of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society was established. In 1902 the museum was given the name "Grodekov" in honor of the merits of the Priamur Governor-General N. I. Grodekov for organizing and founding the museum. In 2002 N. I. Grodekov's name was restored in the museum's title. The museum houses a collection of exhibits reflecting the paleontology and geology of the Priamur region, the flora and fauna of the Far East, fish of the Amur basin, the culture of the indigenous peoples of the Priamur region and Slavic settlers, as well as the history of the exploration and development of the Russian Far East and the events of the Civil War in the Far East in 1917–1922. Temporary exhibitions are regularly held.
