(Yakutia) named after A. A. Strelnikov. The Yakutsk State United Museum of the History and Culture of the Peoples of the North named after E.M. Yaroslavsky was founded in 1887. It is the oldest museum of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Far East and Siberia. The museum is one of the largest museums in the northeast of Russia and holds an excellent collection of monuments of the history and culture of the peoples of Yakutia. The museum's research activities are organized taking into account its specific profile. It is widely known as a center for cultural and educational activities. The museum has established close ties with museums in Russia and abroad, as well as with international museum organizations. It actively participates in international projects and exhibitions, and also publishes its research in scientific collections and journals. In addition, the museum has seven branches. Currently the museum's director is N. D. Bugaev.
