Exhibition “The Estate of Maria Timofeevna Kunitsyna”
About exhibition
Visitors to the city museum complex are invited to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the provincial city Arkhangelsk was at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. Guests will enter the drawing room—the largest and brightest room in the house—where the large Kunitsyn family gathered. According to relatives and acquaintances, the room once contained furniture made of valuable woods, upholstered sofas and armchairs, a piano, paintings, and expensive tableware. This setting has now been recreated in period style. From the drawing room you can proceed to the owner’s study, where an early 20th-century interior typical of middle-class Arkhangelsk families has been restored. This room served simultaneously as a workplace, library, sitting room, and even the owner’s bedroom.During the tour of the historic house, built in 1909, visitors will watch a film about the history of the Kunitsyn family and view a photo gallery of old Arkhangelsk: the estate was recreated by the Malye Korely museum-reserve in the early 21st century within the “Old Arkhangelsk” historical-reserve zone. For information and advance booking call: +7 (8182) 21-14-85, +7 (921) 720-41-64.
