About museum

On February 6, 2009, the exhibition hall 'Museum' was opened. In 2012 the first permanent exhibition, 'Russian Izba', was opened here. Each year the 'Museum' holds more than 20 exhibitions, using exhibits from its own collections, from regional museums, district schools and private collections. The themes of the exhibitions and tours are very diverse: patriotism, local history, decorative and applied arts, and painting. In addition, regular meetings are held here with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and with figures from culture, sports and education. As part of the museum's research activities, staff work on various projects — historical, local history and ethnographic. They collect and systematize information about Kaltan residents, their enterprises, institutions, and honored and distinguished workers, etc.
