Baron Antoine-Henri Jomini's Estate
About museum
Baron Antoine-Henri Jomini's estate is an incredibly interesting historical and cultural heritage site in the south of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast that attracts many visitors. Here you can learn about the fate of one of the Napoleonic-era figures — the Swiss Jomini, who took part in the wars against Napoleon and was also the founder of the General Staff Military Academy of the Armed Forces of Russia. The estate includes the baron's historic house and a spacious park with a tree-lined alley, gardens, suspension bridges and deep canyons. It is also home to the largest vineyard in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. The ethnic village Poselok Baronsky features various stylized buildings as well as other attractions that acquaint visitors with the traditions and customs of the 19th century.
