The Yurginsky Museum of Children's Visual Arts of the Peoples of Siberia and the Far East was opened on August 17, 1981 in the city of Yurga, Kemerovo Region, and is the first children's art museum in the Russian Federation. It serves as a repository for creative works by children and professional artists, and as an educational and research institution. The museum's concept is to present children's creativity in the context of the traditions of Siberian artistic culture. Its collections contain more than 8,000 items.
