Turinsk House-Museum of the Decembrists
About museum
The only museum in the Middle Urals dedicated to the Decembrists is located in the house where the family of the exiled Decembrist Vasily Ivashev lived, and where Ivan Pushchin (a Lyceum friend of A. S. Pushkin) stayed. In this museum you will see the permanent exhibition "The History of Decembrism. The Life of the Decembrist V.P. Ivashev", which was created in scientific cooperation with the State Historical Museum and the State Library named after V.I. Lenin, the Research Museum of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, the All-Union Museum named after A.S. Pushkin and other museums of the country, with the participation of Leningrad artist-designers and restorers. The exhibition about the life and activities of the Decembrists in exile is opened by the introductory hall "History of the Decembrist Movement." In the recreated interiors, in addition to portraits, letters and documents, there are personal belongings of the Decembrist donated to the museum by the descendants of the Ivashevs. The museum's largest room, the fireplace hall, and the blue hall on the second floor host temporary exhibitions: collection-based, partner, and traveling.
