About museum

In September 2002 the Tomarinsky Local History Museum was founded, located on the second floor of the district House of Culture. The museum has one exhibition hall that includes a number of display cases and informational stands. The exhibition covers periods of the history of the Tomarinsky Urban Okrug from antiquity to the present day and includes sections such as geology, fauna, Ainu culture, Japanese ceramics, a Korean section, Russian everyday life, numismatics and notaphily (banknote collecting), documents and rare books, as well as memorials to war heroes. Entry to the museum is free of charge for visitors.
