Tara Art Gallery
About museum
\r\nG. N. Nechaeva and Z. A. Svirkov set out to realize the dream of art lovers. After considerable effort, an art gallery opened in Tara on November 6, 1987. The first exhibition was dedicated to works by Omsk artists and was titled "Artists of October". It was donated to the city in 1979 by the Omsk branch of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR and was kept in the local history museum. The "Second Floor" salon hosts numerous meetings and encounters with people from various fields — doctors, teachers, librarians, and folk artisans. During the gallery's existence more than 600 exhibitions have been held. Particular attention was attracted by the collection of works by K. N. Shchekotov (26 items), "Beloved City" by G. A. Shtabnov, as well as works by local artists — G. S. Solovyov, N. D. Kalnitsky, G. A. Safronov, V. V. Glebov and N. F. Babushkin.
