Sergey Andriyaka Watercolor School
About museum
In the center of the capital, not far from the old German settlement Lefortovo, stands a beautiful mansion built in 1889 by the architect M. K. Geppener for a Lutheran children's shelter. At the end of the 20th century the building was handed over to the Sergey Andriyaka Watercolor School, who developed a unique method for teaching the art of watercolor to children and adults. It consists in the artist-teacher going through all stages of creating a work together with the students. The school teaches painting and drawing in watercolor, and also offers classes in etching, porcelain and ceramic painting, monumental painting and the history of fine arts. The school has a team of professional artists, educators and teachers who are ready to generously share their knowledge with students. The school's director holds demonstration master classes for anyone interested and regularly organizes exhibitions of masterpieces of graphic art and watercolors from museums across Russia.
