Shchyolkovo Art Gallery
About museum
In 1995 the 70th anniversary of the town of Shchyolkovo was marked by the opening of the Shchyolkovo Art Gallery. The creation of the gallery was made possible thanks to Honored Artist of Russia G. A. Bezukladnikov, who actively participated in assembling the gallery's art holdings. The collection included donations from local residents, the Shchyolkovo Artists' Club, the Union of Artists of Russia and foreign authors. The gallery displays works by V. M. Zaitsev, M. G. Abakumov, P. P. Litvinsky and other well-known masters. Exhibitions at the gallery continuously present the development of visual arts in Shchyolkovo and its district through works by local artists. At various times exhibitions by People's Artists of Russia, academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts, Honored Artists of Russia and other prominent artists have been held here. The Shchyolkovo Artists' Club, the Shchyolkovo Union of Professional Artists and the association of applied arts masters 'Shchyolkovo Patterns' operate at the gallery on a permanent basis.
