About museum
The museum invites visitors to tours of its exhibits and educational programs. The museum is located in the building of a Lutheran church, built in the 1930s and designated as a regional monument. It has been open since 1986. It exhibits items from the second half of the 19th century to the early 20th century. Of particular interest are woven footwear, woven textiles, as well as the original crest from a border post of the Russian–Latvian border of the 1930s. In addition, the museum displays photographs related to the history of the town and the city gymnasium of the 1930s. Front-line letters from fellow townspeople and participants in the city's liberation from the Nazi forces provide insight into the years 1941–1945. In total the museum holds 2,340 items provided from the collection of the Pskov Museum-Reserve and 8,755 items donated to the museum. Tours and educational programs are held here.
