Presentation and Exhibition Hall of the Kizhi Museum-Reserve
About museum
On August 20, 1895, the building that belonged to the Petrozavodsk Crafts Vocational School was opened. In 2000, by decree of the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Karelia, the building was transferred to the museum in the center of Petrozavodsk. Funds were needed for its restoration, so the museum appealed to the President of the Russian Federation, V. V. Putin, for assistance. The initiative was supported, and in September 2000 funds were allocated from the presidential reserve fund. The Kizhi Museum-Reserve presents exhibitions dedicated to the region's historical and cultural heritage. The presentation and exhibition center has two halls and a museum shop. Conferences, workshops, and creative meetings are held here, and Wi-Fi is provided. Exhibitions change several times a year, and the museum actively cooperates with creative organizations, educational institutions, and artists.
