Park of the 300th Anniversary of the City of Taganrog

In 1998, by order of Taganrog's first mayor S. I. Shilo, the municipal cultural institution “Park of the 300th Anniversary of the City of Taganrog” was created to mark the city's anniversary. According to Taganrog's General Plan, the park's area was 26 hectares up to 2015. However, after the arrival of the new mayor N. D. Fedyanin the park's area was constantly reduced and by 2010 had shrunk to just 10 hectares. Unfortunately, developers continue to encroach on the park's territory, removing individual plots from protection and transferring them for private development.
