St. Nicholas Cathedral Monument-Museum
About museum
St. Nicholas Cathedral, the oldest church in Yaroslavl's Dvorishche, was founded by Mstislav in 1113–1136. It is the first stone structure on the trading side, dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. It underwent restoration in the 1990s. Numerous fragments of 12th-century painting have been preserved in the interior. Most of the decoration dates to the 19th century. Today the St. Nicholas Cathedral hosts permanent exhibitions with information about the monument's history and the restoration carried out, and also features a multimedia panorama with a 360-degree screen and films about life in medieval Novgorod.
