Local History Department of the Central Library of Voskresensk

About museum

Since June 16, 2020, the Local History Department of the Central Library has been part of the Voskresensk Centralized Library System, but its history began in 1975 when the Museum of Labor and Military Glory of the Voskresensk Chemical Plant was founded. In 2001 it moved to 9 Pionerskaya Street and was separated from the structure of JSC "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers", after which it became part of the "Khimik" Palace of Culture named after N. I. Doktorov and the "Krivyakino Estate" Cultural Center. The main task of the Local History Department is to preserve the history of Voskresensk and its inhabitants. There are four exhibition halls: historical, military, local history, and social and everyday culture. Each of them houses exhibits that demonstrate the development of the city, the life of its residents and enterprises, as well as documentary materials about the Great Patriotic War. The department hosts various events dedicated to the city's history.
