\r\nOn July 27, 2014, the Voronezh Regional Museum of Local Lore opened the department “History of the Creation of the Russian Fleet”. The museum's focal point is the ship «Goto Predestinatsia» («God's Providence»), laid down on November 19 (29), 1698, at the Voronezh shipyard. The ship's construction was directed by Peter Alexeyevich; in his absence two Russian master shipwrights supervised the work. The museum's exhibition presents items that allow visitors to get a sense of the everyday life of 18th‑century sailors as well as the history of Russian naval combat voyages. The exhibits help acquaint visitors with the struggle to revive the Russian Fleet and the people who participated in it. The museum displays dioramas, medals, weapons, tableware, a ship's stove, and mannequins in clothing of the Petrine era. This place helps to understand the history of the creation of the Russian Fleet and to trace its development.
