Radio Theatre Museum-Studio
About museum
On December 25, 1925, the first Soviet radio play, "An Evening at Maria Volkonskaya", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Decembrist uprising, was broadcast on the radio station named after the Comintern. The idea to create the Radio Theatre Museum belongs to Zoya Vladimirovna Chernyshova, a writer, playwright, and director. She donated her apartment to the A.A. Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museum, in which the Radio Theatre Museum-Studio was established. The collection assembled by Zoya Vladimirovna (photographs, documents, recordings of radio plays and theatrical performances, radio equipment, etc.), supplemented with new exhibits, presents the history of dramatic radio broadcasting and the work of well-known directors, actors, presenters, and editors. Due to the Museum's limited space, the public cannot see all materials at once, so the exhibition is constantly updated and expanded. The opening of the Museum was timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of national radio theatre.
