Novgorod Center for Contemporary Art
About museum
The Novgorod Center for Contemporary Art was founded in September 2009 and comprises the City Exhibition Center and the Novgorod House of Photography. In recent years, the Center's premises have hosted more than 265 exhibitions by artists from Russia, nearby and distant countries, as well as renowned masters from Veliky Novgorod and the Novgorod region. The Center collaborates with art centers, museums and private collectors. Based at the Center, the regional photo festival “Okoem”, an exhibition of the Novgorod branch of the Union of Artists, and the intellectual club “Skvoreshnya” — where weekly lectures are held — take place annually, along with the project “Russian Museum: Virtual Branch” for schoolchildren. The center also hosts film screenings, master classes, art events and guided tours for children and adults.
