About museum

Founded in 1970, the museum is part of the Cultural and Sports Rehabilitation Center (formerly belonging to the V. A. Shelgunov House of Culture) and operates under the management of the St. Petersburg regional organization of the All‑Russian public association of persons with disabilities — the All‑Russian Order of the Red Banner of Labour Society of the Blind (VOS). It contains documents, photographs and objects that provide an insight into the public movement of blind people in St. Petersburg from the late 19th century to the present day.
