Mukhino Rural History and Local Lore Museum (branch)
About museum
In 1968 the chairman of the Dzerzhinsky kolkhoz, A. Kh. Kormshchikov, supported the initiative to establish a museum in the village of Mukhino and provided the necessary materials and exhibits. The club manager, Vera Mikhailovna Dovydova, was responsible for organizing the collection of materials. However, the museum had no permanent home and ceased its activities after Perestroika. In 2007 the farm's former accountant, Valentina Semyonovna Golyasheva, headed an initiative group to restore the Mukhino museum. For this purpose the director of ZAO Agrofirma Mukhino, Leonid Alexandrovich Kazakov, allocated premises in a former residential house. Today the museum houses object collections, six exhibition halls with continuously updated displays, and a storage repository. It exhibits household items and peasants' clothing from the 19th–early 20th centuries, as well as a working weaving loom and examples of patterned woven textiles. In the hall dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, village residents can learn about the feats of their fellow countrymen and their awards.
