Mytishchi Historical and Art Museum
About museum
On December 4, 1962 the museum was opened; since 1987 it has been located on the first floor of a separate building. It permanently features seven exhibition halls, as well as two halls for temporary art exhibitions. The museum's first hall displays archaeological finds from various sites in the Mytishchi district, allowing visitors to learn about the distant history of the region. You can also learn about Moscow's first gravity-fed water supply, the famous Mytishchi springs, and other historical events. The museum's second hall contains materials about the estates of the Mytishchi region, which recall noble aristocratic families and notable figures of Russian history and culture. These estates were visited by N. M. Karamzin, I. I. Dmitriev, V. L. Pushkin, A. V. Suvorov, D. V. Davydov, I. A. Krylov, V. N. Tatishchev, G. R. Derzhavin, and many writers and poets.
