Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya Museum Complex
About museum
In 2017 a decision was made to build a new museum complex dedicated to the heroes and events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1942, as well as to the legendary feat of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory the museum was officially opened; it includes the "ZOYA" Museum, the Kulik House, a Memorial, and the site of the first burial. In 1948 a museum building was erected in Petrishchevo where visitors can feel themselves among the people who built a new life in the pre-war period, hear the story of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya's life and feat, and sense the greatness of the heroism and courage of the Soviet people in the brutal battles near Moscow. In one of the museum's halls visitors can record a story about their relatives who took part in the war, thereby embodying the self-sacrificing courage of thousands of heroes and the feat of an entire people that defeated fascism.
