Museum and Exhibition Complex "Konstantinovskaya Battery"
About museum
In the 19th century the Konstantinovskaya Battery was built to protect Sevastopol Bay from enemy ships. It has earned its place among the sights of Sevastopol and Crimea. During the First Defense of the city the Konstantinovskaya Fort admirably fulfilled its task: preventing enemy ships from entering. The battery's personnel showed heroism, despite the enemy's superiority. In the Great Patriotic War the Konstantinovskaya Battery was used to defend the maritime area. During the Second Defense of Sevastopol it covered vessels departing the bay for three days. In 2017 the first Museum and Exhibition Complex "Konstantinovskaya Battery" was opened; it is a unique open-air museum and also houses a historical exhibition.
