Old Ladoga State Historical-Architectural Museum-Reserve. P.V. Kalyazin House
About museum
At present, a two-storey brick building stands at the intersection of Kultura Street and Varyazhskaya Street. Previously there was a Trading Square that belonged to one of the four Kalyazin brothers, Petr Vasilievich. After the fire of 1884 he built a new house from Yeliseev brick and the less durable brick of the Chebunin factory. The first floor housed a dry-goods shop, and the second floor contained living quarters for Petr Vasilievich and his family. In the Soviet period it housed a village club and a kindergarten. From 2003 to 2019 the second floor held the exhibition "Archaeology of Ladoga", and the first floor served as the exhibition hall of the Old Ladoga Museum-Reserve. From December 11, 2020 to August 27, 2022 the Kalyazin House was closed to visitors due to restoration. In 2022 a new exhibition, "Christian Ladoga", opened on the second floor, and on the first floor — the exhibition "White Gold. Porcelain" and temporary exhibitions.
