Vologda Exile Museum
About museum
In 2006, the 'Vologda Exile' exhibition was opened at house No. 33 on M. I. Ulyanova Street. This house was not chosen by chance, since Joseph Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili (Stalin) lived there. However, he is not the only figure featured in the exhibition, as the Vologda region long before Stalin was known as the 'subcapital Siberia', and the place of exile was visited by high-ranking individuals. The museum tells their stories and their way of life. Guided tours are also offered on topics such as 'Russian Writers in Vologda Exile', 'Stalin and Molotov in Vologda Exile', 'Berdyaev and the "Northern Athens"' and the program 'Vologda Exiled Poets: Stalin, Savinkov, Sokolovsky'. The exhibition provides a comprehensive introduction to the exile aspect of the Vologda region.
