About museum

The Sochi Museum of Sporting Glory is a branch of the Museum of the History of the Resort City of Sochi, which was established at the initiative of the city's head A. N. Pakhomov. On June 8, 2010 a ceremonial opening of the museum was held, attended by Jacques Rogge, D. N. Kozak, D. N. Chernyshenko and other honored guests. The main task of the museum is to create a new cultural and educational space in the city. Various events are held here aimed at the active participation of schoolchildren, students, volunteers, athletes and other guests of the resort city in museum work. The museum has hosted Vladimir Kondra, Dmitry Ilyinykh, Irek Zaripov, Viktor Yazykov, Mikhail Krutikov, Elena Vesnina and Alexey Voyevoda. Over four years of operation the museum has achieved notable results: it has a clear goal, an expanded program of events and is thriving.
