On November 15, 2024, the Ebisu Fishing Museum will open. Since 2018 the museum was located in Yekaterinburg; in 2024 it moved to Moscow and opened in the SportHit shopping center.
The collection of antique fishing tackle has been assembled since 2009. At present it includes more than 2,000 exhibits, ranging from old foreign-made fishing reels to unusual lures and antique printed publications. The museum is full of exhibits that tell not only the history of fishing but also the history of the world over the past hundred-or-so years. Fishing has changed along with people, with technology, and with the pace of life. What once seemed incredible is now realized and used every day. Fishing tackle was no exception. Admission is free.
