In October 2010 the Postal Museum at the Bashkortostan branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Post" was opened; it is located in the Ufa post office building, an architectural monument of the 20th century. The museum's exhibition covers an area of 60 sq. m and consists of 1,500 exhibits from different periods. The collection includes postcards, stamps, documents and other postal items through which one can trace the history of postal services in Russia and in Bashkortostan. The museum is part of the tourist routes in Ufa and is visited by more than five thousand people every year. Various events are held here — exhibitions, special cancellations, and meetings with interesting people. The museum can be visited to learn about the history of postal services in Russia and in Bashkortostan.
