Nevskaya Zastava Museum
About museum
Nevskaya Zastava Museum is located in the Nevsky district of Saint Petersburg. This two-storey wooden house was built at the end of the 19th century for workers of nearby factories. The worker-revolutionary Vasily Shelgunov lived here, and illegal meetings organized by Vladimir Lenin took place here. Until 1965 the house served as a residence, and in 1967 a museum of revolutionary history was opened here. The building underwent restoration in 2017-2021 and remains a cultural heritage site. The museum features the exhibition 'The House on Novo-Aleksandrovskaya', dedicated to the history of the residential building and the museum, as well as the 'Vasily Shelgunov Memorial Room' — a reconstruction of a late 19th-century worker's room at the Nevskaya Zastava. Temporary exhibitions about the Nevsky district are also held.
