About museum
On November 5, 1981, the A.G. Pozdnyakov Museum of the Peoples of Northern Buryatia was opened. It offers an exhibition area of 431.5 sq. m and more than 2,500 items in the main collection. The museum presents the history of the Baunt taiga, as well as the material and spiritual culture of the Evenks, the indigenous people of the district. Here you can learn about the natural riches of the area, view zoological, archaeological and paleontological collections, and also become acquainted with the history of the gold-mining industry and the diversity of minerals and semi-precious stones. In addition, each quarter the museum hosts new interesting exhibitions on various themes.
